Dinner and Evening ProgramsEach night during the dinners offered by the Mazatlan Bird Festival in the Hotel Playa Mazatlan, we will feature exciting presentations by important guest speakers, including Peter Alden, and review the day’s highlights generated by the various tours and locations. The camaraderie will by sealed by the warm hospitality of the staff of the Hotel Playa Mazatlan. ConferencesThe Mazatlan Bird Festival will feature conferences covering bird conservation, distribution, rural birding guide training, and the relationships between community development and birding. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to learn about what is being done about bird conservation in Mexico from expert researchers, leading organizations and institutions. WorkshopsDaily workshops including bird identification, birding basics and the use of birdwatching equipment. Depending on the response to our festival we may add on more workshops for more advanced levels so keep an eye on our program. Art ExhibitsThe Mazatlan Bird Festival is proud to announce the enthusiastic participation of San Franciscan artist David Tomb. His work titled the Treasures of the Sierra Madre will be exhibited during the event. Please visit the art exhibit area of this website for details. Reproductions will be available for sale and the proceeds will benefit the Tufted Jay Preserve. A fabulous children's bird art exhibit from a leading Mexican children’s art school will also be on display. Exhibitor’s AreaNature photographers, local arts and crafts, bird-related products, tour operators, conservation organizations, regional foods, Mexican shade-grown coffee, and much more will be on display in our exhibitor’s area at the Hotel Playa Mazatlan. |
