Salvador studied photography at the Centro George Eastman Kodak de México in adition to theater, drama and cinematography at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. He worked as a photographer and portrayer in productions at Televisa, Mexico, Latin America's largest TV production and broadcasting company. Venturing into journalism, Salvador joined the Mexico City newspaper Reforma, where he worked as a photographer for the printed edition and as camera man, reporter and editor for the multimedia edition (reforma.com). He covered the election process of July 2, 2002, the Zapatista march and the eruption of the Popocatepetl volcano, among other landmark events. He is the initiator of “recorridos virtuales” (virtual navigation) of 360 degrees inside journalism media on the web. Salvador has an unedited book production: El Arte en Voz de sus Creadores, (Art in the Voice of its Creators) in which he interviews and pictures intellectuals and artists. He obtained several awards at the Club Fotográfico de México where he was an active member. He has taught courses, given lectures and has presented individual and collective expositions. He came to Sinaloa in 2002 and started his journey through the state, taking pictures of people and their natural and cultural heritage. In 2004 he won first place in the State of Sinaloa Photography Contest. In 2005, after more than a year of research, he finished a digital book, Sinaloa, Realidades Mitos y Leyendas (Realities, Myths & Legends) with more than 2000 pictures. In 2006 he obtained a scholarship from The State of Sinaloa Arts and Culture Funding and began a traveling exhibition throughout the state. |
