Alwin van der Heiden is a Dutch native who has lived in Mazatlan since 1978. He studied Marine Sciences and Oceanography at the Faculty of Marine Sciences in Ensenada Baja California. His love of nature and photography began at an early age as did his special admiration of birds and their environment. With his passion for conservation photography, Alwin knows that one photograph can make a huge impact and influence public perceptions to inspire change. He also works as a freelance nature writer for Mexico Desconocido magazine and Sinaloa Interactivo. Among his latest achievements is publishing a book: Biodiversity of the State of Sinaloa. It features his photography of the flora and fauna of the state. |
